Women of Russia Union opens regional branch in LPR

The “Union of Women of Russia” social-state organization has launched a regional branch in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Head of the “Union of Donbass Women,” LPR Public Chamber member Natalia Priymak told the Lugansk Media Center.

 

Priymak who will lead the regional branch said that it had brought together the subdivisions of the “Union of Donbass Women.”

 

Currently, there are 18 women’s councils operating in the Republic” she said adding that women’s councils would be set up in the northern part of the Republic in 2023.

Donbass women contribute to the development of the Republic as the reliable home front for the men, Priymak said.

The “Union of Women of Russia” was established in November 1990. In 1992, it became the legal successor of the Committee of Soviet Women. The Union is committed to improving life conditions of women and their families, raising the status of women in the society, eliminating all forms of discrimination against women, humanizing the family policy, and promoting and building a strong, stable, morally sound and prosperous Russia. The Union of Women of Russia is implementing the following programs: “Close-knit family for a stable country,” Sustainable development and social security, “Guaranteed equality of rights and opportunities of men and woman, “Spiritual well-being. Culture. Healthy life-style. Advanced practice. New ideas. Positive actions,” “For peace, international cooperation and friendship” and “Women for countryside revival.”   

 

The Republic’s Union of Women social movement was established by the LPR Public Chamber began to work in March 2021. In December, the movement acquired the status of social organization and was renamed to “Union of Donbass Women.”*i*v
