Ukraine doubles number of attacks on LPR in 2021 - Pasechnik

Military&Defence

Ukraine doubled the number of attacks on the LPR this year, the LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said, speaking at the "5th Studio" TV show on Russia 24 Channel.

"Statistics show that our territory came under fire 238 times in 2020. As of December 2021, the figure is 522. It means the number of attacks increased by 2.5 times compared with last year," he said.

This week, Pasechnik said, no shelling incidents were reported, but Kiev "keeps amassing heavy equipment, weapons, personnel along the line of contact".

Last week, Ukranian attack left an LPR defender killed and seven residential houses damaged.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line. *t
