Over 5,000 LPR residents to join supporters of United Russia party

More than 5,000 residents of the Lugansk People’s Republic have filled in the form to join the ranks of United Russia party supporters. Vladimir Dal Lugansk State University (LGU) rector, LPR Public Chamber deputy chairman Viktor Ryabichev said.

Earlier on Tuesday, the LGU opened a center for applications to join United Russia supporters.

”As of today, we’ve received 5,500 applications from United Russia supporters. They (applications) came to our (center); residents across the Republic wrote these applications. Our Centre puts them together and passes them to the Russian Federation,” Ryabichev said.

He added that LPR residents were showing an active civil position.

Earlier, LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said that residents of the Republic supported the initiatives, plans and ideas of the United Russia political party, which helped the Donbass Republics survive in 2014. He backed the initiative to set up a movement of United Russia party supporters in the LPR.

On September 17, the Mir Luganschine social movement, Lugansk Economic Union, and trade union organizations at enterprises began to accept applications from residents who wish to join the ranks of supporters of the United Russia political party. *i
