The LPR Ministry of Emergencies has assisted in evacuation of more than 11 thousand people from Rubezhoye, where the clashes with Ukrainian forces are still ongoing.

“More than 11,000 people have been evacuated (from Rubezhoye) since March 16. All the evacuated people are initially taken to a temporary tent camp of the Ministry of Emergencies in Starobelsk and to a city sports school. From there, evacuees are taken by train to Lugansk. Some of them go to other towns on their own, or leave to stay with their relatives in Russia," the report reads.

On March 31, about 150 people were taken out of the city, including 20 children. On the same day, employees of the Ministry of Health of the LPR delivered urgently needed medicines to the hospital of Rubezhnoye.

The evacuation efforts are coordinated by the Minister of Emergencies Yevgeny Katsavalov with assistance of the servicemen of the LPR People's Militia.

"Rescuers have set up gathering points in the villages of Varvarovka and Novaya Astrakhan, closest to Rubezhnoye. Some people arrive on their own. Those who cannot get out of dangerous zones, who are constantly under fire from Ukrainian Nazis, turn to rescuers or servicemen of the People's Militia. They are divided into groups and transferred to safe zones by transport that delivers humanitarian aid.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Ceasefires were announced more than 20 times since the autumn of 2014. Kiev forces regularly violated the truce opening fire with large caliber artillery, mortars and tank guns which were to have been withdrawn from the contact line under the accords. *t
