Kiev forces use US-made drone to attack Belovodsk district - JCCC
Military&DefenceKiev forces have used US-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), engines and parts in the attempt to attack the Belovodsk district, said the Lugansk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine's war crimes (JCCC).
“On January 19, Ukrainian armed formations delivered a strike at the LPR’s Belovodsk district using seven UAVs,” the JCCC said. “The examination of downed drones found that their engines and parts had been manufactured in the USA.”
The LPR Office at the JCCC confirmed the local authorities’ information that Russian armed forces had downed six enemy drones before they could launch the attack.
"One UAV damaged the machine shop of state-owned Derkul stud farm No 63 in the Novoderkul village, Belovodsk district, and two tractors,” the JCCC added.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
