Former servicemen in new regions to draw pensions under Russian norms from July 1

The Russian government has considered a lawbill on the provision of retirement benefits to former servicemen, law-enforcement personnel, prosecutors, customs officers etc in the new regions according to Russian norms from July 1, 2023.
 
“A special pension procedure has been considered for residents in the new regions who did military or equated service and members of their families. It will be launched from the second half of this year,” the Cabinet’s press service said on Telegram.
 
The recipients are requested to submit an application to draw pensions. The lawbill also provides for a length of service allowance.
 
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered the pension agencies in the new territories to pay special attention to the issue.
