More than 50 employees of former Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics law-enforcement bodies have forwarded employment requests to the Russian Investigative Committee, SK chairman Alexander Bastrykin said in an interview with TASS.

“More than 50 former employees of prosecutor’s offices and other law-enforcement bodies which operated in the DPR and LPR before their accession to Russia have applied for positions at the Investigative Committee,” Bastryukin said. “The SK is now running background checks.”

“At present, the SK has 438 candidates in employee pool,” he said, adding that “we appreciate the support of the persons with considerable professional and life experience.”

In October 2022, Bastryukin ordered to set up SK branches in the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. By mid-January 2023, the SK had built up a reserve of 500 personnel for the investigative bodies in the new Russian regions.

The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
