Volunteers, former MMA fighter Monson deliver medications for LPR servicemen

Volunteers of the Young Guard of “United Russia” (MGER) social organization and former American mixed martial arts fighter Jeff Monson who was granted Russian citizenship have delivered medications for Lugansk People’s Republic servicemen on the frontline.

 

“MGER volunteers and Krasnogorsk Town Council deputy Jeff Monson have delivered medications to the medical battalion of a military unit on the frontline in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the “United Russia” party press service reported.

 

The aid is intended for the servicemen fighting for the Republic on the Kremennaya axis, the press service said.

 

“We’ve brought antibiotics, cold medicines, remedies for burns, irrigation tubing sets, isotonic solutions, painkillers, medications for surgery, field surgeon wear etc,” MGER Chairman Anton Demidov said. He thanked the Chelyabinsk residents who had helped to collect the supplies.

 

“The medical battalion is mostly comprised of women who heroically save the lives of our soldiers,” Demidov said.

 

Monson has made trips to Donbass since 2016. Last September, he conducted a Greco-Roman wrestling master class in Snezhnoye, and in November 2021 he led a training session for young athletes in Lugansk.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression on February 24, 2022. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.

 

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum. *i*ie
