Universities in new regions to participate in national projects in 2024

Research institutes and universities of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will join state programs and national projects in 2024, TASS reported citing Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
 
"Science centers and universities of the new regions will be involved in state programs starting next year," Chernyshenko said.
 
Participation in state programs is part of the approved plan of actions to integrate the new regions in the Russian education and research environment. The Action Plan names 17 priority measures in higher education and research, he said.
 
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
