The advance voting organized by the “United Russia” political party (ER) will help the Lugansk People’s Republic form a candidate pool for all levels of power, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.

The party’s regional branch in Lugansk began to accept documents for advance voting on Thursday. LPR parliament speaker Denis Miroshnichenko was the first to register for participation in advance voting on the candidates seeking seats in the LPR parliament.

The LPR is participating in advance voting for the first time, but “United Russia” has practiced it for 14 years, so the mechanism is well-tuned, Pasechnik said. “In fact, a candidate is double-checked which enables the party to form a list of worthy candidates for the September elections and human resources for jobs at all government levels. It is particularly important to us.”

“This day actually inaugurates another important period: the integration of our Republic in the political environment of the Russian Federation,” he added.
On March 7, 2023, the political council of the party’s regional branched initiated preparations for advance voting which will be held online and at voting stations.

“United Russia” set up its regional branch in the LPR on October 21, 2022. LPR parliament speaker Denis Miroshnichenko was elected its secretary. More than 22,000 LPR residents had joined “United Russia” by then.

Chairperson of Russia’s Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said that the CEC had been making scheduled preparations for elections on the single voting day on September 10.
