Ukrainian forces shell LPR twice over 24 hours - JCCC

Military&Defence
Kiev forces shelled the Lugansk People’s Republic twice on December 8, the LPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine's war crimes (JCCC) said.

“Ukrainian armed formations delivered two strikes at the settlements of Rubezhnoye and Pervomaisk using an American M 142 high mobility artillery rocket system (three missiles)  and 155mm artillery (four projectiles),” the JCCC said. “The attacks damaged three houses and trade facilities in Rubezhnoye, and an apartment building and two petrol stations in Pervomaisk.”

Damage assessment is ongoing.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
