Ukrainian forces have lost more than 70 servicemen on the Krasny Liman axis over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
On the Krasny Liman axis, “Center” Group artillery and advancing units inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s 66th Mechanized Brigade, 25th Airborne Brigade and 80th Air Assault Brigade in the areas of Nevskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Yampolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Serebryanka Forestry,” the report said. “Enemy losses amounted to more than 70 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, one D-20 howitzer and one US-made M-777 artillery piece.”
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
