Ukrainian forces have lost more than 40 servicemen on the Krasny Liman axis over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“On the Krasny Liman axis, Central Military District artillery inflicted damage on units of the Ukrainian army’s 92nd and 66th Mechanized Brigades in the areas of Stelmakhovka and Makeyevka of the Lugansk People’s Republic and 95th Air Assault Brigade in the Serebryanka Forestry area,” the Defense Ministry said.
A Ukrainian artillery ammunition dump was destroyed in the Krasny Liman area. “Enemy losses on this axis amounted to more than 40 servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles, four armored combat vehicles and a D-20 howitzer,” the Ministry said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
