Ukrainian forces have lost more than 20 servicemen on the Krasny Liman axis over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

“On the Krasny Liman axis, “Center” Group warplanes and and artillery delivered strikes at manpower concentration areas of the Ukrainian army’s 95th Air Assault Brigade and 125th Territorial Defense Brigade in the areas of Stelmakhovka (LPR) and Serebryanka and Yampolovka (DPR),” the report said. “More than 20 Ukrainian servicemen were killed.”

The Defense Ministry also said that Russian forces on this axis had destroyed “two armored combat vehicles and four self-propelled howitzers: a German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000, a Polish “Krab”, a Soviet “Msta-C” and a Soviet“ Gvozdika.”

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum. *ie*i
