Ukrainian army loses 140 servicemen on two axes - Russian Defense Ministry

Kiev forces’ manpower losses on the Kupyansk and Krasny Liman axes have reached over 140, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
 
“On the Kupyansk axis, Task Force “West” aircraft and artillery inflicted damage on Ukrainian army manpower and equipment in the areas of Sinkovka, Kislovka and Timkovka in the Kharkov region and Novoselovskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the report said. 
“A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was thwarted in the Timkovka area in the Kharkov region. Enemy losses amounted to more than 30 servicemen and three vehicles.”
 
Task Force “Center” units effectively repelled two enemy attacks on the Krasny Liman axis in the areas of Kuzmino in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Grigorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
 
Aircraft and artillery delivered strikes at the Ukrainian army’s 21st, 42nd, 63rd and 67th Mechanized Brigades and 15th Regiment of the National Guard in the areas of Chervonaya Dibrova and Nevskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic and Yampolovka, and Terny and Grigorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were thwarted in the Serebryanka Forestry area.
 
“Ukrainian army losses over the past 24 hours amounted up to 115 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, three pickups, one “Grad” multiple rocket launcher, one “Akatsiya” self-propelled howitzer and one D-30 howitzer,” the Defense Ministry press service said.
 
Air defense units intercepted three Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles and six HIMARS projectiles over the past 24 hours. Eight Ukrainian drones were shot down in the areas of Opytnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Karmazinovka, Privolye, Ploshchanka and Oborotnovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Balochki and Peremozhnoye in the Zaporozhye region.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
 
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
 
The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
