Russian Interior Ministry assigns region code 81 to LPR vehicle license plates

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has ordered to assign regional code 81 to license plates of the vehicles registered in the Lugansk People’s Republic.

 

“The list of digital codes of Russian regions, which are necessary for clearing vehicles and their drivers as road traffic participants, <...> adds 80 for Donetsk People’s Republic, 81 for Lugansk People’s Republic,  84 for Kherson region and 85 for Zaporozhye region,” the document said.

 

The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
