Russian army thwarts four Ukrainian saboteur groups on two axes

Russian armed forces have thwarted the operations of four groups of Ukrainian saboteurs on the Kupyansk and Krasny Liman axes, said the Russian Defense Ministry.
 
“Three Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were thwarted in the areas of Sinkovka and Kislovka in the Kharkov region and Rozovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic (Kupyansk axis),” the Ministry said adding that another group was suppressed in the area of Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic (Krasny Liman axis).
 
“On the Kupyansk axis, Task Force “West” aircraft and artillery delivered strikes at enemy units in the areas of Timkovka and Berestovoye in the Kharkov region and Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian army units lost up to 45 servicemen, three cars, one “Akatsiya” self-propelled howitzer and one D-20 howitzer.
 
“On the Krasny Liman axis, Task Force “Center” aircraft, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems inflicted damage on enemy units in the areas of Karmazinovka and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Grigorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Enemy losses over the past 24 hours totalled 80 servicemen, two pickups, one “Gvozdika” self-propelled howitzer and one D-20 howitzer.
 
“Over the past 24 hours, air defense units destroyed 17 Ukrainian drones in the areas of Ploshchanka, Kuzemovka and Makeyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Tonenkoye and Georgiyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the Defense Ministry said.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
 
President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
