Russia to allocate two bln rbls for sport facilities repairs in new regions

The Russian government will allocate more than two billion rubles for repairs of sport facilities in the new territories, the press service of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko told the Lugansk Media Center.
 
“<…> 2.36  billion rubles will be allocated to repair 43 sport facilities, under the socio-economic development program for the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions,” the press service said.
 
Allocations for mass sport in the new territories reached 1.44 billion rubles in 2023. Works will be launched in all densely populated municipalities including Donetsk, Mariupol, Makeyevka, Yenakiyevo, Lugansk, Melitopol, Genichesk, Skadovsk, Berdyansk etc.
 
As for large sport facilities, the Russian government decided to restore the Ilyichevets multi-purpose sport center in Mariupol.
 
Plans are in place to build a swimming pool in the Kherson region, and a sport cluster in coastal DPR as part of the development of the Donetsk Olympic Reserve College. Authorities will also consider the possibility to build a year-round sport base in the Zaporozhye region to accommodate regional teams’ trainings sessions.
