Russia to allocate one bln rbls for unemployment benefits in new regions

The Russian government is allocating more than one billion rubles to pay unemployment benefits in the new regions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said as he opened a Cabinet meeting.
 
“Under the Russian law, the people who lost their jobs are entitled to unemployment benefits. The government will allocate more than one billion rubles to provide such support to the new regions and Republics this year,” TASS quoted Mishustin as saying.
 
The needy must have these benefits, he said adding that “we’ll also allocate additional funds for the purpose.”
 
Mishustin ordered Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov to monitor the introduction of Russian social protection system standards in the new territories.
 
“The situation must be under special control,” he said.
 
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
