A humanitarian aid convoy of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) has delivered foodstuffs for residents of Lisichansk, Starobelsk, Severodonetsk and Rubezhnoye, the Lugansk People's Republic Emergencies Ministry press service reported.

“On January 16, a new EMERCOM convoy delivered relief supplies for Donbass residents to the LPR capital,” the Ministry said. “Thirty-two EMERCOM trucks brought foodstuffs, household cleaning goods, children’s goods, tools, ovens, power generators, military uniforms and gear and essential goods.”

The convoy immediately left for Lisichansk, Starobelsk, Rubezhnoye and Severodonetsk. Six trucks were dispatched to the town of Severdonetsk which had been severely damaged during hostilities.

After the unloading, the trucks returned to the Tula rescue center.

The previous convoy of Russian rescuers comprising 12 trucks delivered 150 tons of food and medical supplies to residents of Lisichansk, Starobelsk and Rubezhnoye.

Russia first sent relief supplies to the LPR on August 22, 2014.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
