The 198th humanitarian aid convoy of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) has delivered 50 tons of sugar to Lugansk, the Lugansk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry press service reported.

“On September 20, a new EMERCOM convoy delivered relief supplies for Donbass residents to the LPR capital,” the press service said. “Five EMERCOM trucks brought 50 tons of sugar.”

On August 19, 2022, EMERCOM’s 197th convoy delivered 146 tons of foodstuffs and 46 tons of construction materials to Lugansk.

Russia first sent relief supplies to the LPR on August 22, 2014. Over eight years, it has sent more than 150,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Donbass Republics.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force. *i*s
