Russia delivers 110,000 tons of relief supplies to new regions in 2022

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) delivered more than 110,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the new Russian regions last year, EMERCOM Head Alexander Kurenkov said at a meeting with Ministry officials.
 
“In 2022, more than 1,000 EMERCOM convoys, in cooperation with the National Guard, delivered over 110,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the new regions of the Russian Federation,” TASS quoted Kurenkov as saying.
 
Last year, EMERCOM engineers carried out mine clearance operations on some 800 hectares of territory in the new regions, he said.
Russia first sent relief supplies to the Lugansk People's Republic on August 22, 2014.
 
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
 
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*v
