Rescuers have recovered the body of a patient from under the rubble of a collapsed building of the Pervomaisk general hospital which Ukrainian forces shelled last Saturday, said town administration head Sergey Kolyagin.

Ukrainian armed formations fired a US-made high mobility artillery rocket system at Pervomaisk in the evening of December 31, 2022. Six civilians were wounded and a hospital building was ruined in the attack.

“Yesterday (on January 4), the body of a 68-year-old Pervomaisk resident was recovered from under the debris of a collapsed building of the central general hospital; as of the time of shelling, she was receiving treatment in the trauma department,” Kolyagin said.

He conveyed his condolences to families of the fatalities and wished speedy recovery to the wounded.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
