Putin: Russia allocates over trillion rubles to develop new regions

Society
More than a trillion rubles are allocated in Russia every year for the development of the new regions and their gradual integration in Russia’s economic and social life, President Vladimir Putin said as he held his Direct Line question and answer session with Russian citizens and a big press conference with journalists on Thursday.
“More than a trillion rubles are allocated for the development of these regions and their gradual integration in Russia’s economic and social life,” Putin said.
The new regions established fraternal relations with other regions of the country which have already invested about 150 billion rubles in the new territories and plan to invest another 100 billion rubles or so, he said.

“This year, the new regions paid 170 billion rubles to the federal budget; what does it mean? It means that the economy of these regions is recovering and coming into compliance with regulatory norms,” the head of state said.

He also noted that there was a lot of work to do in the new regions and that Russia would cope with this challenge.*i
