Pension review not to decrease or suspend payments in LPR - Social Insurance Fund

The review of pensions which the Lugansk People’s Republic is starting on March 1 in accordance with Russian laws will not decrease or suspend these payments, a Pension and Social Insurance Fund official said.
 
“Pensions will not decrease.<...> The pension size review does not envision termination, suspension or cancellation of pension payments,” Head of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund Department for the LPR Tatyana Vasilyeva said.
 
Pension review in the Republic will last until February 29, 2024, Vasilyeva added. Supplements will be calculated starting March 1, 2023 regardless of the application date.
 
“Some people might have no opportunity for some reason to apply within a year, but they can do so after the deadline; however, recalculation is applied from the month following the application date,” the official said.
 
Applications for pension review under Russian laws are accepted by the Fund’s client services across the LPR. The main document is the Russian passport with a note of address registration. It the note is missing, the applicant attaches his or her LPR passport.
 
The law on the specifics of pensions and social benefits for citizens living in the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed by President Vladimir Putin came into force on March 1, 2023.
