Lugansk People’s Republic Head Leonid Pasechnik said that the new charges against him brought by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) acknowledge his service to the region.

“The charges and sentences against me probably carry a jail term of one hundred years in total,” Pasechnik said. “Actually, I’m glad that Kiev, in this manner, acknowledges my service to the people of the Lugansk region and my Fatherland - Russia.”

A new charge made by Ukraine implies that “the fascism guided by the West, is afraid, he said.

“They fear our reunification (with Russia) because together, we’re wiser; we’re a power that can overcome the most difficult challenges of history. It also means that we’re on the right path and will continue to move in the chosen direction,” the LPR leader said.

“I have always served and will continue to serve the Russian World, the Russian people, Russia and our President Vladimir Putin,” Pasechnik said.

The SBU earlier charged Pasechnik in absentia with organizing elections in the Republic. A report on Facebook (Russia banned this social network and recognized its owner, the Meta corporation, as extremist organization) by the so-called Donetsk and Lugansk departments of the SBU said that Pasechnik had signed several laws on holding the elections to the LPR parliament and municipal bodies in September 2023 and then assumed the office of LPR Head. Under Ukraine’s Criminal Code, he faces up to ten years in jail and property confiscation.*i*sb
