Lugansk People’s Republic Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik and Lugansk city mayor Manolis Pilavov have discussed pressing issues, the LPR leader said in a post on Telegram.

“We began with the  March snowfall cleanups,” Pasechnik said. “A month has passed, but tree branches have not been removed from the yards, not even from the city center. I ordered to have the problem resolved by May 30 and focus on removing the trees that threaten the safety of people.”

He said that street lighting had to be fully repaired by May 25 in Karpinsky, Korolyov and 30 Let Pobedy Streets and the single family neighborhood.

Another problem is the underflooding of cellars in apartment buildings due to the rundown and clogged sewage system. All the sewer lines in the city will be replaced with the assistance of the sponsor region by 2025. This work is already underway in the Zhovtnevy district. The city administration head must urgently organize scheduled sewer cleanups using Moscow colleagues’ equipment for maximum efficiency, the LPR leader said.

As of April 21, Lugansk utility companies had removed 120,000 cubic meters of tree branches after the snowfalls in late March.
Heavy snowfalls, icy roads and packed snow were observed in the Republic on March 30. The next day, at least 182,000 customers, boiler houses and social infrastructure facilities in a number of LPR districts were left without electricity, water and gas supply.

Servicemen helped public utilities with snow cleaning and fallen trees disposal.

Pasechnik ordered to muster all resources to repair the damage caused by the snowfall. Some 300 pieces of equipment and more than 1,000 workers are engaged in the snowfall aftermath cleanup.*i*v
