Organizing Committee registers 54 candidates for “United Russia” primaries

The Organizing Committee has registered 54 candidates in the Lugansk People’s Republic for the primary election organized by the “United Russia” (ER) political party.
 
“The Committee registered 40 candidates, and another 18 have been registered on Tuesday,” the press service of “United Russia’s” regional branch reported. 
 
Earlier in the Day, the Organizing Committee listed 30 counting stations in the LPR.

On March 7, 2023, the political council of the party’s regional branch initiated preparations for primary voting. The party’s regional branch began to accept documents from candidates on March 9. LPR parliament speaker Denis Miroshnichenko was the first to register for participation in the primary election of candidates seeking seats in the LPR parliament. Thirteen candidates were registered as of March 24.
 
LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik said that the “United Russia” primaries will help the Lugansk People’s Republic build a candidate pool for all levels of powers.
 
“United Russia” set up its regional branch in the LPR on October 21, 2022. LPR parliament speaker Denis Miroshnichenko was elected its secretary. “United Russia” said that more than 22,000 people had joined the party by the time the LPR branch was established.
 
Chairperson of Russia’s Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said that the CEC had been making scheduled preparations for elections on the single voting day on September 10.*i*v
