One civilian killed, 11 wounded in Kiev artillery attacks on LPR in February - JCCC

Military&Defence
One civilian was killed and another 11 were wounded in Kiev artillery attacks on the Lugansk People’s Republic in February, said the LPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC).

“Twelve civilians became victims of Ukrainian armed formations aggression in the designated period (in February); of those, one was killed and 11 were wounded including a child,” the JCCC said.

LPR ombudsperson Viktoria Serdyukova said that the Republic's civilian casualty toll from Ukrainian artillery strikes in January was 21 dead and 37 wounded.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
