Lugansk enterprises increase sales by 8 percent in 2021 - City Hall

Lugansk companies’  sales increased by 8 percent in 2021 year-on-year, city mayor Manolis Pilavov said in his annual progress report.

“City enterprises increased sales of industrial products by 8 percent compared with 2020,” Pilavov said. In the processing sector, metallurgical companies accounted for 9.8 percent in the overall sales volume and machine building for 14 percent. Producers of rubber, plastic and nonmetallic mineral products also boosted their sales.

“Lugansk food companies’ sales increased by 4 percent in 2021 year-on-year and by 22 percent compared with the pre-pandemic 2019. The launch of new companies and products contributed to the increase,” the Lugansk administration head said.

Food companies have considerably expanded the range of products thanks to equipment modernization, he added.

For example, “Lugansk Niva” PAO increased the production of groats three-fold in 2021 after it had purchased a color sorting machine to improve product quality,” Pilavov said.

In 2021, metallurgical companies increased sales by 14 percent, and produces of rubber, plastic and nonmetallic mineral products by 42 percent.

Household chemistry products made in Lugansk are in demand in the LPR market thanks to their value for money. The Milma household chemistry plant boosted production by 25 percent in 2021 year-on-year. Max Khim Trade House plans to increase its output by one-third next year, the Lugansk mayor said.

Pharmaceutical companies Lugmedfarm and Lugansk Chemical-Pharmaceutical Plant keeping expanding the range of medications.

“It enabled them to increase sales by 8 percent year-on-year. The Chemical-Pharmaceutical Plant launched 14 new products four of which are already on sale while Lugmedfarm developed original medications produced from herbal substances,” Pilavov said.
