“The document which entitles the employee to sick pay has been accepted by the Russian Social Fund,” the press service said. “The electronic format will streamline the doctors’ work, eliminate errors which were made in hard copies and ensure the timely payment of disability benefits.”

“The introduction of digital services is one of the objectives of the region's integration into the Russian health care system,” the Ministry said.

An electronic sick leave certificate cannot be lost or forged.  All medical organizations across Russia began to issue electronic sick leave certificates on July 1 2017.

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
