Russia’s National Guard (Rosgvardia) engineers have seized more than 53,000 rounds of ammunition and some 100 small arms and grenade launchers from weapon caches found in the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past week, the Rosgvardia press service reported.

“Rosgvardia engineers found caches of weapon and ammunition including foreign arms as they checked more than 160 locations in the LPR last week,” the report said. “Some 100 small arms and grenade launchers, more than 53,000 rounds of ammunition, more than 40 kilograms of explosives and more than 600 explosive items were handed over to LPR police and military commandant’s offices.”

The weapons could have been used by nationalists to carry out acts of sabotage, Rosgvardia said. *i*ie
