More than half LPR schools to open in offline mode on Sep 1

More than half of the LPR districts will start the academic year in the traditional mode of learning, the Head's Administration press service said.

"The heads of the municipal and regional administrations of the LPR have made decisions on the organization of the educational process," the report reads.

Schools are opening on September 1 in the offline mode in 18 towns in regions, while 11 municipalities decided to keep schools in the distant learning mode. Most schools that will operate online are located in the regions that often come under Ukrainian fire.

The decisions are subject to change depending on the security situation.

Ukraine has been carrying out a military crackdown against Donbass since 2014. Multiple announcements of ceasefires failed to stabilize the situation. The simmering armed conflict escalated rapidly in February this year, and sent Donbass barrelling towards an unprecedented bloodshed.

Russia intervened on February 24 by launching a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine and bring peace back to Donbass. *t
