Ukrainian forces have lost more than 60 servicemen on the Krasny Liman axis over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

“On the Krasny Liman axis, Central Military District warplanes and artillery inflicted damage on units of the Ukrainian army’s 95th Air Assault Brigade  in the area of Serebryanka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and 24th Mechanized Brigade in the area of Novovodyanoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the report said.  “A Ukrainian artillery ammunition dump was destroyed near the Nevskoye settlement in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Enemy losses on this axis over the past 24 hours amounted to more than 60 servicemen killed or wounded, one armored personnel carrier, three pickup trucks and a D-20 howitzer.”

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
