Minister launches “Year of Russian Language” in LPR

Lugansk People’s Republic Minister of Education and Science Ivan Kusov has inaugurated “Year of the Russian Language” events in the LPR, the newspaper “Respublika” reported.
 
 “The Russian language is our treasure, our culture,” Kusov said in the course of his visit to the "Intellect" education center. “For the LPR and other new regions of Russian Federation it’s doubly important because the people defended their right to speak Russian, be Russian and belong to the Russian culture; they suffered for this right defending it with weapons in hand.”
 
“At the September 30 referendum, we chose to be with Russia forever. It’s a very important year for us,” he said.
 
The minister presented awards and certificates of commendation to participants and winners of international, all-Russia and municipal contests.
Earlier, LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik signed a decree on “the Year of the Russian Language and Culture” in the Republic.
 
The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022, based on the results of the unification referendum.*i*v
