Ministry of State Security says saboteur attack might be cause of gas pipe blast

In the night of June 18, a medium-pressure gas pipe of 425 mm diameter exploded, causing a large blaze under an overpass located near the May 1 Park in western Lugansk. More than 40 houses and public buildings were briefly left without gas.

The LPR Ministry of State Security said it does not exclude a saboteur attack was the reason of the gas pipe explosion in western Lugansk.

"Preliminary reports show the explosion might have been a result of a technical emergency. At the same time, law enforcement does not exclude the possibility of a sabotage act directed at undermining LPR economic security," the report reads.
