LPR reports 23,548 covid cases

Lugansk People’s Republic medics recorded 23,548 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.

 “As of 09:00, February 4, the LPR had 23,548 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report said.  A total of 18,980 people have recovered and left hospitals with two negative test results for COVID-19 since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.

 “Four deaths have been recorded over the past 24 hours which brings the LPR coronavirus infection death toll to 3,186,” the Ministry said.

The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection outbreak a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 380.3 million by now; of those, over 5.6 million people died, according to the WHO. Earlier, the LPR confirmed 23,255 COVID-19 cases.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures.*i*r
