Lugansk People’s Republic medics have recorded 42 deaths due to COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“Forty-one deaths have been recorded since Thursday which brings the LPR coronavirus infection death toll to 2,043,” the Ministry said.
The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 241.8 million by now; of those, over 4.9 million people died, according to the WHO. The LPR confirmed 17,114 COVID-19 cases.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures. *s
