Lutugino resident sentenced to 14 years for high treason

The Lugansk People’s Republic Supreme Court has sentenced a resident of Lutugino to 14 years for high treason, the Court’s press service reported.
 
The case against the 28-year-old local resident was investigated by the Federal Security Service Department for the LPR. A Ukrainian Defense Ministry officer offered him money for gathering military intelligence. The man passed sensitive data to the enemy from 2021 to 2022, the press service said.
 
He will serve his sentence in a maximum security prison. The verdict has come into force.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
