Lugansk resident sentenced to 12 years for high treason - prosecutors

The Lugansk People’s Republic Supreme Court has sentenced an ex-member of LPR law enforcement to 12 years in prison for high treason as he had been recruited by the Ukrainian Security Service, the LPR Prosecutor General’s Office press service reported.

"The court hearing established that in mid-2017, being a former employee of one of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic, the defendant was recruited by an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and after that, in August 2017, he handed over to the SBU the personal data of his former colleagues, as well as information about the security system and the access control of a departmental administrative facility, which became known to him during the period of his service," the report reads.
 
The defendant pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment. *t
