The Academic Regional Puppet Theatre of Lugansk hosted the Impossible Is Possible creativity festival ahead of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

“Today, the Good Way organization of disabled persons held the Impossible Is Possible creativity festival <...> to promote the rights of this group of people in all areas of life, and draw the broad public’s attention to their problems,” the Luganmedia holding reported.

The festival was attended by deputy chairperson of the Russian president’s Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Irina Kirkora, president of the Doctor Liza’s Fair Aid international charity organization Olga Demicheva, LPR parliament member Denis Kolesnikov, head of the LPR Labor and Social Protection Ministry department for social organizations and veterans Natalia Krasnikova, social and volunteer organizations’ representatives and executives of companies that sponsor organizations of disabled people.

“We saw an amazing performance given by the children. Despite health problems they have to overcome, these remarkable angels displayed sincerity, love and their talents,” Kirkora said.   Judging by the support they get from adults and the applauding audience, coming over here from Moscow and seeing this remarkable festival was worth it.”

The Good Way social organization chairperson Lilya Ilyina said that the children and adults had been preparing for the festival more than a month.

“Of course, we’ve all been on edge but I think that the festival was a success. The children were so sincere in telling us that they are full-fledged participants in our life. We give thanks and bow to all who support us in this difficult time,” Ilyina said.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed by 47th UN General Assembly on December 3, 1992.  Back then, the UN urged its member-states to annually observe the day with dedicated events, in order to help persons with disabilities to integrate in the life of the society. *i*vs
