LUGANSK, February 6 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk People’s Republic Supreme Court sentenced a Lugansk resident to 12 years in prison for high treason, the LPR Prosecutor General’s Office press service reported.

“The prosecutors of the PGO department for supervision over compliance with the law at military units and state security bodies supported the indictment against a Lugansk city resident accused of high treason,” the press service said.

From March 2018 till May 2019, he followed a foreign intelligence service’s orders to gather information on the location of LPR military and civil infrastructure facilities and the organisation, forces, means and methods ensuring the protection of vital facilities and LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik.

The man wanted remuneration and tried to keep a low profile, the prosecutors said.

“The evidence found by the investigators and examined in the course of the hearing fully proved his guilt,” the PGO said.  “The verdict has come into force.”
