LPR steel sales increase 4.5 times in 2022 year-on-year

Sales by Lugansk People’s Republic steel mills increased by 4.5 times in 2022 compared with the previous year, said head of the LPR parliament committee on industry, agricultural policy and infrastructure Sergey Didenko.
 
“The DPR processing sector’s sales increased by 2.5 time last year from 2021, bolstered by a 4.5-times increase in the sales of metallurgical sector products,” Didenko said referring to LPR Industry and Trade Minister Andrey Shredets’ report read to the parliament committee.
 
The Alchevsk steel mill, the Lugansk foundry and mechanical plant and Lugtsentrokuz were the largest contributors, he added.
 
In 2022, sales increased by 11.4 percent in machine building, 91 percent in wood-working, paper production and printing, 71.2 percent in rubber, plastic and non-metal production, 46.6 percent in pharmaceuticals and 1.9 percent in chemical industry, the parliamentarian said.
 
He noted that the parliament, together with the Ministry would work on removing the obstacles to further industrial development of the Republic.
