The temporary ban on export of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal, introduced in the Lugansk People’s Republic aims to support local industrial production, said the LPR Ministry of Industry and Trade.

LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik had prohibited the deliveries of scrap metal to destinations outside the Republic for the period of martial law operation.

The ban applies to steel, cast iron and stainless alloys with low content of improvers, as well as to aluminum, copper, bronze, brass, lead and other metals which do not belong to the ferrous or precious metal group.

“These materials remain quite important for the Republic’s domestic market. The ban provides for increasing the load on production capacities,” the Ministry’s press service said. *i*v
