LPR People's Militia has raised the Republican Flag, Russian Flag and the banner of the Prizrak (Ghost) battalion at the Gorskoye administration.

Lugansk Media Center correspondent says that the banners are being lifted next to the administration building.

"Orekhovo was liberated first, and now what we are witnessing is happening, our battalion has entered and liberated Gorskoye," the commander of the 14th People's Militia battalion Alexander Bebeshko said.

He said that the residents of the townships have been waiting for this moment for eight years, as the referendum to proclaim LPR's independence took place here in 2014.

People's Militia forces are making gains in Zolotoye, that has become one of the most fortified Ukrainian strongholds over the years.

Ukraine has been carrying out a military crackdown against Donbass since 2014. Multiple announcements of ceasefires failed to stabilize the situation. The simmering armed conflict escalated rapidly in February this year, and sent Donbass barrelling towards an unprecedented bloodshed.

Russia intervened on February 24 by launching a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine and bring peace back to Donbass. *t
