LPR reports 5,424 COVID-19 cases

Lugansk People’s Republic medics recorded 5,424 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.

“As of 09:00, July 9, the LPR had 5,424 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report said.

“A total of 4,593 persons have recovered and left hospitals with two negative test results for COVID-19 since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.”

The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 184.8 million by now; of those, over 4 million people died, according to the WHO. Earlier, the LPR confirmed 5,374 COVID-19 cases, 493 people died.
