LPR reports 4,963 COVID-19 cases – Healthcare Ministry

Lugansk People’s Republic medics recorded 4,963 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.

“As of 09:00, June 15, the LPR had 4,963 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report said.

“A total of 4,355 persons have recovered and left hospitals with two negative test results for COVID-19 since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.”

The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 175.9 million by now; of those, over 3.8 million people died, according to the WHO. Earlier, the LPR confirmed 4,938 COVID-19 cases.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities have put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures. *s
