LPR reports 22,187 COVID-19 cases

Lugansk People’s Republic medics recorded 22,187 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.

 “As of 09:00, January 25, the LPR had 22,187 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report said.  A total of 18,619 people have recovered and left hospitals with two negative test results for COVID-19 since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.

The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection outbreak a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 349.6 million by now; of those, over 5.5 million people died, according to the WHO. Earlier, the LPR confirmed 22,145 COVID-19 cases.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures.*i*t
