Lugansk People’s Republic medics recorded 11,936 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“As of 09:00, September 23, the LPR had 11,936 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report said. A total of 8,979 people have recovered and left hospitals with two negative test results for COVID-19 since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.
“Twenty-five deaths have been recorded since Wednesday which brings the LPR coronavirus infection death toll to 1,203,” the Ministry said.
The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 229.3 million by now; of those, over 4.7 million people died, according to the WHO.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures.*i*r
