Lugansk People’s Republic medics recorded 10,765 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“As of 09:00, September 16, the LPR had 10,765 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report said. A total of 8,354 people have recovered and left hospitals with two negative test results for COVID-19 since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.
“Thirteen deaths have been recorded which brings the LPR coronavirus infection death toll to 1,085 since the beginning of the pandemic,” the LPR Healthcare Ministry said.
The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic caused by a novel coronavirus. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. The number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 225.6 million by now; of those, over 4.6 million people died, according to the WHO.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures.*i*r
